The Use Of Essential Oil`s Reference Guide

Before the List I would like to give you a warning about use of essential
oil`s.
First of all they can be fatal when injested, can cause skin problem`s, eye
irritations as well as many other serious complications if misused.
So great care and caution should be your utmost concern when using any
herbs, herbal preps, incense anything new that you are unskilled and
under educated about.
So please common sense and learn what you are using how and why.
True essential oil`s are the purest form of herbs. These are also the most
dangerous form of the plant as it is highly concentrated,so this is why
you dilute the essential oil for use.
General guideline is;5 to 7 drops to 1/8 of one cup of base oil, such as
jojoba. This is used to dilute the oil and still maintain the scent
desired.Without risk of irritaion of skin eyes or body part`s.

Using Aromatherapy

This article is complimentary to my other article, Introducing
Aromatherapy, which is from my column on alternative therapies.

When buying essential oils for use in aromatherapy there are a few
things to bear in mind. Oils vary in price and quality due to the
amount of oil found in the plant and the integrity of the
distillation process. Always read the label as they may contain
synthetic additives and dilutants. Check for the botanical name for
the plant and that they are pure and natural. If unsure, buy from a
reputable distributor. Diluted oil is fine as massage oils but more
expensive as they do not last as long.
